José is currently the Brand Protection Manager for EMEA at FMC Corporation and has responsibilities for intelligence gathering around illicit trade of pesticides (intel sourcing, targeted investigations, raids/seizures).
Before joining FMC, José was General Counsel Brand & Marketing Properties at Nestlé and was responsible for the protection and enforcement of all Nestlé brands globally as well as for all company licensing. He was also the legal lead of specific projects such as the roll-out of the Starbucks® brand license to Nestlé in 60+ countries.
Prior to that, José was IP Counsel EMEA for DuPont, where he held various responsibilities, including the managing of DuPont Nutrition & Health trademarks and copyrights, and commercial and corporate legal support to Spain & Portugal. Prior to DuPont, José worked as Legal Adviser to the International Standards Organization (ISO), the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and in a Spanish and US law firms.
José is a Spanish qualified lawyer with a Masters Degree in Intellectual Property from the University of Alicante (Spain) and a Postgraduate Diploma in EU Competition Law from King’s College London.
