Conference 2025

The international conference “Protection of IP in Digital Environment” was held for the second time in Belgrade on March 6 and 7, 2025, gathering over 150 attendees from Serbia, Italy, Hungary, Croatia, Bosnia and Hercegovina, the UK, Spain, the Czech Republic, Israel, UAE, Kazakhstan, Turkey and many other countries.

Conference attendees had an opportunity to take part in interactive discussions on various topics across 5 panels.

The conference also offered numerous networking opportunities, including a major reception at “Mali pijac” bistro on the first conference day.

The conference was opened by Vuk Sekulić, managing partner at “MSA IP” law firm, who addressed the attendees on behalf of the organizers, followed by Dušan Stojičević, who spoke on behalf of RNIDS (Serbian National Domain Name Registry), Isabel Cortes Martinez, who spoke on behalf of “PONS IP” from Spain, and Aleksandra Mihailović from the Intellectual Property Office of the Republic of Serbia.

The opening panel moderated by Stefan Bojović, UDRP panelist and partner at “MSA IP”, focused on domain name disputes from the perspective of Brand owners and the speakers were: Lenka Schäfer from one of the UDRP Providers – the Czech Arbitration Court (“CAC”), Maria Fernandez Marques from “Novartis” AG, Oscar Benito from “BioNTech SE”, and Natalia Ozeranskaya from “PaySend Group”.

The following panel addressed the relationship between domain name industry and IP owners. Alongside the moderator Igor Mocni from “Motsnyi IP Group”, UDRP panelist and URS examiner, the speakers line-up included Dusan Stojičević from “Gransy” s.r.o. (domain name registrar), Sten Lilliestrom, domain name investor, Ivett Paulovics, an attorney in Italy and Hungary and a UDRP panelist and Lenka Schäfer from the CAC.

The last panel of the first conference day covered brand protection, both online and offline. Speakers at this panel included Jaak Feuggelen from the European Anti-Fraud Office (“OLAF”), Miloš Bogdanović from “MSA IP”, Burcum Evgin from “DERIS”, Turkey and Oscar Benito, “BioNTech SE”. The panel was moderated by Jerome Sicard from “Bridge BP”.

 

The first panel of the second conference day was dedicated to copyright, software protection and combating software piracy. The panel was moderated by Milica Makević Stanojević from “MSA IP” and the speakers were: Ganna Prokhorova, partner at “Mamunya IP”, Ukraine, Magda Irimia, “Microsoft Corporation”, Romania and Fuensanta Sánchez-Guerrero from “CHCJ Legal & Compliance Services”, the UK.

Round table discussion included Milica Makević Stanojević, Ganna Prokhorova, Fuensanta Sánchez-Guerrero, Antonio D’Onofrio from “Dassault Systems”, Italy, Sanja Timotijević, “Microsoft Corporation”, Serbia and Anja Černoh, software protection association “LegaliS”, Serbia.

The final panel explored a link between intellectual property rights and technology that enables managing and protecting IP. Speakers included Isabel Cortes Martinez, “PONS IP”, Spain, Stanoje Rnić from “Archibald Intelligence”, Serbia and Željko Sredojević from “tmLIFT”, Serbia, with Milan Milojević, managing partner “MSA IP” as moderator.
